3 Room Upgrades That Will Wow Your Holiday Guests
Having a polished and perfected home is unrealistic. We live busy lives. Things get messy. We forget to put on mascara with our eyeliner (yes, one of THOSE days!). Life happens.
And...so do holidays. If you're like me, you're often in a pinch. You need new flooring, new furniture, new drapery - but who has time? Never fear, I'll get you holiday-ready in no time.
A fresh, new rug is better than installing new flooring (unless your floors are in dire condition). A rug of the right size and color will make your room feel warmer or breezier, more expansive or more intimate. When looking for the perfect rug, make sure it contrasts attractively with your flooring.
Already have a rug? Replace that baby!
If you have young children, messy teenagers, or pets in the house, chances are your furniture fabric could use some love.
Some homeowners prefer to clean their microfiber furniture fabric using a spray bottle of rubbing alcohol and a clean sponge.
Doing this rids the fabric of unsightly stains or strange smells.
I've said it before, but I'll say it again: lighting is everything. It's the difference between "dingy" and "joyous."
Aside from that, having a window treatment that suits your window, its style, and its placement are equally important.
Is your window treatment in the right position for your window?
Does it jive and thrive with the rest of your space?
If not, tell me. Let's get that fixed before the holidays.
Have guests coming over for the holidays? Make sure your guest bathroom is in top shape before they arrive.
Whether you decide to go all-in and have a team come install a new shower/bathtub liner, or you simply decide to purchase a new shower curtain and hand towels, small touches will not go unnoticed.
If you have a little bit of extra time before your holiday guests arrive, a fresh coat of paint breathes new life into any room.
Whether it is a brand new color or even a fresh coat of the current color, that new coat will make all the difference.
My free Color Boss Workshop will demystify color and teach you everything you need to know about using color effectively - and beautifully! - in your home.
